Sagmeister Event is sold out!!!!!

That's right folks, all sold out. I have received questions on if there were a hidden stash like modern dog, alas, there is not. I have been told, if you want to show up to the event and wait
to see if there are "no shows" they might release some seats, otherwise, there's not chance unless you were lucky enough to buy them before they were gone.

2008 Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival - Call for Artwork

The 2008 Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival seeks an artist or designer to create key artwork to be utilized as the thematic identity for festival marketing and promotion campaigns. The artwork will be used for the festival poster (18x24, 1000 circulated, 11x17, 500 circulated), front cover of the program guide (10,000 circulated), festival advertisements (including local and national publications), postcards (10,000 circulated), festival tickets & passes (audience of 10,000+), invitations, t-shirts, and festival website (13,000 unique visitors in 2007).

What's happening Next month with AIGA....

March 2008

3/4
Stefan Sagmeister

Tuesday, March 4 / Doors 6:30pm, Lecture 7:00pm
Kane Hall / University of Washington
Parking Info

Astonishingly, Stefan Sagmeister has only learned twenty or so things in his life so far. But he did manage to publish these personal maxims all over the world, in spaces normally occupies by advertisements and promotions: as billboards, projections, light-boxes, magazine spreads, annual report covers, fashion brochures, and, recently, as giant inflatable monkeys. In this presentation Sagmeister throws his diary, a lot of design, and a little art together with a pinch of psychology and a dash of happiness into a blender and pushes the button. It tastes surprisingly yummy.

This book began as a list Stefan made in his diary under the title Things I have learned in my life so far, which includes statements such as "Worrying solves nothing" and "Trying to look good limits my life." The list reveals something that is profoundly true: Although human beings have been pursuing happiness for countless generations, it is not so easily achieved. And we need constant reminders to keep us on the right path.

The book will be available at the event for $40 and Stefan will signing the books following the lecture.

"As communication experts we design, juxtapose, layout and collage visual experiences for our users. This all begins with eye/hand coordination. All students should supplement their normal schoolwork by keeping on hand at all times notebooks to draw, write, sketch and record daily visual notes. As musicians must practice daily, so we too must practice our visual skills each day.
