Please take a moment to visit The Burnley Gallery, and enjoy our newest exhibition:
Alphabet: An Exhibition of Hand-Drawn Lettering & Experimental Typography.
A traveling exhibit, Alphabet comes to us from Baltimore, MD, designers Post Typography (www.posttypography.com). Curators Nolen Strals and Bruce Willen describe their show like this:
“26 shapes form the basis of our written communication. We usually process these ubiquitous forms without a second thought, rarely considering their composition or the meaning they possess. Yet, for some, letters are a fascinating subject; the Alphabet exhibition explores these elemental forms in a variety of nontraditional ways.”
Please feel free to pick up a brochure from the gallery, and learn more about typography and experimental type.
Special thanks to Shelly DuBois & the Executive Committee, Tim Barger, Lisa Zenno, Deborah Yates, Chris Galbraith, Thomas Manley, Catherine Guyot, Carol Winders, Russ Huston, (the incomparable) Yvonne Mills, Bonita Bilton, and Ellen Rempfer.
The Alphabet exhibit runs through June 6th in The Burnley Gallery.
Enjoy!

I'm Back....
As any of you who check this blog on a regular basis may have noticed, I was gone for a while. You should know that I was in Cuba. If you don't that means you don't come to graphic design club often or check your email or hangout on campus, or talk to me ever. Anywho, for those that missed my presentation at the GD club meeting on Wednesday, I have photos from my trip and blog entries at my own blog davidgallo.blogspot.com
Cheers,
David Gallo

This is a call for artists, collectors and galleries
to enter their works in the 3rd Annual ArtBash Live & Silent Auction!
Over our first two years, the ArtBash has sold dozens of artworks and raised over $7,000 for Ad Club's Kerin Keller Memorial Scholarship Fund (benefiting students affected by breast cancer in their family.) This year, we are excited to be adding the Ad Club Seattle Minority Marketing Scholarship at Western Washington University to the list of beneficiaries.
Auctioneer Jennifer Bolton of Allegria Auctions will return to preside over the popular and fast paced event.
Art donors receive exposure on the ArtBash Web site with a link to their own Web site, as well as a ticket to the event. Original paintings, giclées, artist's prints, photographs, ceramics, wood pieces, art glass, jewelry and three-dimensional sculptures are eligible for acceptance.
Please submit your entries as digital images (300 dpi, RGB, Tiff or JPEG at least 5" x 7") using our on-line donation form at http://www.artbashseattle.com.
Entries also can be mailed on CD to ACS, PO Box 58530, Seattle, WA 98138. The following specifics must be included: title of piece, retail value, media, and dimensions. Details and a printable donor form are available on the ArtBash web site.
