AIGA Seattle Presents

Urban Toy Holiday Massive
Tuesday December 11 / 6:30
IMO Asian Bistro
704 1st Avenue, Seattle

Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle and join AIGA Seattle for a night of good cheer, drinks, and our first ever Urban Toy gift exchange. This isn't your typical white elephant with random gifts across the spectrum. Leave your fruitcake, sweat socks, and Debbie Gibson tapes at home. Gifts at this exchange are exclusively Urban Toys.

What is an urban toy you ask?
These aren't toys for kids! Called "urban vinyl toys" or "designer toys'', most of the toys are created by world famous artists, illustrators, and designers in the USA, Japan, Hong Kong, and Europe. Many of these toys are extremely rare and collectible. An artist may choose to create a series of only 500, 300, 100 pieces or less, so once a toy is gone, it's gone forever!

Urban toys make great pals for designers! They love to sit on your desk, shelves, or wherever else they can flaunt their extreme coolness and originality. Plus, if you are not familiar with these little guys, you will get a great introduction by participating that night. You will walk out with the first piece in a collection of your own.

If you would like to participate in the gift exchange (which we highly recommend) please:

Bring an urban toy or set of a few small urban toys valued at $15. Urban toys give you a lot of bang for your buck. For $15 dollars you can get two small toys or one medium sized one. Remember you will come home with a gift in hand too. If you are going to participate please adhere to the urban toy genre otherwise you can't be a part of the madness. Sorry no Dunny for you.

Make sure that the toy/toys are wrapped. We will be doing the standard gift exchange game model with stealing, passing, and all that madness.

Where do I find these toys?
Download our list of local and online retailers. Ebay is a great option too. We have also listed out some examples of popular series that you will run across in your browsing. We hope that you take the time to explore all the really cool toys out there. Shop early! Have fun!

Admission + RSVP
Admission for this event is FREE. You just need to come with your toy for the exchange. Don't forget money for drinks. Please RSVP to vicepresident@aigaseattle.org by December 4.

Space is limited to 40 people so don't wait! For more info or questions, please email Halli Brunkella vicepresident@aigaseattle.org

SO going. Designers fighting over Dunnys while sipping cocktails—how could I miss that!?
